Joan Hartenstein, Award Winning Artist
The many shapes and colors of Nature inspire Joan’s watercolor, pastel and acrylic paintings. In her landscapes she uses atmospheric colors to achieve great distances and unusual sky effects. The light on the landscape and its effect on the elements in her composition create the visual clarity she seeks. In her still life and floral paintings, the lighting is key as well.
